Terms of Service

Last updated 10 June 2026

1. Who we are

Bramble is operated from the United Kingdom (“Bramble”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the app you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Bramble.

2. Hiking is at your own risk

Bramble is a planning and journaling tool, not a safety device. Outdoor activity carries real risk: weather changes quickly, paths erode, GPS and mobile coverage fail, and route data (including community reports and our confidence scores) can be wrong or out of date. You are responsible for your own safety: check official sources, carry a map and suitable equipment, tell someone where you are going, and turn back when conditions demand it. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for injury, loss or damage arising from reliance on information in the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under UK law.

3. Your content

Photos, captions, reports and trail moments you create remain yours. You grant us a licence to store and display them so the app works (including, if you choose to share them, to other users). Don't upload content that is unlawful, infringes others' rights, or pinpoints private property as public access. We may remove content that breaks these rules.

4. Community reports

Condition reports and trail moments are contributed by other hikers. They are opinions, not verified facts. The trust indicators summarise activity — they are not a guarantee that a route is safe, open or passable.

5. Trial & subscription

Bramble includes a 7-day free trial from first launch. After the trial, a Bramble Plus subscription (auto-renewing) or lifetime purchase, bought through Apple, is required to continue using the app. Payment is charged to your Apple ID; subscriptions renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends — manage or cancel any time in iOS Settings › Apple ID › Subscriptions. Refunds are handled by Apple under their terms. Your hikes and memories remain exportable (GPX, PDF) even without an active subscription.

6. Fair use

Don't reverse engineer the app, scrape our services, or use automated tools to bulk-download data. Map, photo and trail data carry their own licences (see Acknowledgements).

7. Ending or changing the service

Your data is stored on your device first — if you stop using Bramble or we discontinue a feature, you can export your routes as GPX at any time. We may update these terms; material changes will be shown in the app before they take effect.
